CORC Call For JIC Proposals | CORC JIC Paper Proposal Form

This is a call for proposals for a special double issue of the Journal of Internet Cataloging (JIC), which is to be devoted to CORC.

Some of the 10 to 14 articles in this special issue will be invited papers, but we hope that researchers and practitioners who are participating in the CORC project will contribute a good number.

Some topics of potential interest to JIC readers include:

• Subject analysis in CORC
• A description and assessment of authority control in CORC
• A description and assessment of CORC pathfinders
• CORC and access to digitized cartographic materials and images
• A usability study of the CORC design/user interface
• The CORC implementation of Dublin Core
• Best practices for Dublin Core
• Seriality in CORC
• CORC and professional development/training of librarians
• CORC and service to end-users
• Internet resource selection for library Web sites and for the CORC database
• The relationship (actual/emerging/ideal?) between CORC and other library cooperative programs
• CORC, an administrator's view
• CORC in an international context

Of course this is not an exhaustive list, just some ideas to fuel your thinking.

We anticipate notifying writers of successful proposals no later than October 1. Completed manuscripts would be due in late fall.
