Electronic Reserves

The Reserves service from Cornell University Library allows members of the Cornell community to access all course reserve materials through the course reserve option in the CU Library Catalog. E-Reserves materials may also be accessed through Blackboard or course websites. Reserves materials may include the full text of journal articles, class lecture notes, problem sets, sample exams and portions of books.  Books, along with videos, DVDs and audio resources placed on course reserve, are usually available at the circulation desk. In order to protect copyright, Cornell community members are required to log in to access e-reserves using their netID and password. Any computer with access to the World Wide Web and an Adobe Acrobat reader should be able to display electronic course reserve materials.

Steps involved in accessing course reserve materials:

1.  Begin by accessing the CU Library Gateway. Click on the "Course Reserves" link, as shown in the example below.

2.  From the next page, select "Students: View Course Reserves." This will open the Course Reserve index in the online catalog (see example below). From there, searching can be accomplished by using any or all of the four drop-down menus.

3.  The next screen will display the reserve materials for that course. The e-reserves link will lead you to the Blackboard log in page, where you can find your electronic reserve readings.
