Help : Technical Support : Resolve Errors and Common Technical Questions:

While trying to enter a networked resource on the Gateway, I was asked for a special login name and password (not my Cornell NetID and password). Is this right?

Besides your Net ID and password, you should never have to login to a specific networked resource or have a special password.  If you are being prompted for this information, it may mean that you need to enable Cookies on your browser, or make them less restrictive.  We recommend that you enable Cookies for optimal use of the Gateway and its resources.  To learn more about Cookies and the Library Gateway, go to the Computer Set-up Cookies page.

Even if you are an off-campus user, you should never be prompted for a resource-specific login and password to use library networked resources. Make sure you access the resource via a link in the Library catalog or Find It!. If you're still prompted for a resource-specific login, please report the problem by using the Report a Problem Connecting form in the footer of this page.
