Help : Technical Support : Resolve Errors and Common Technical Questions:
I am getting JavaScript errors while accessing the Library Gateway. What do I do?
If you are getting JavaScript errors while accessing the Library Gateway, you likely have a partially loaded page stuck in your browser's cache. This results from not waiting for a page to fully download on your computer. Until the problem is resolved, you will continue to get these errors every time you load a Gateway page.
There are two ways to fix this problem. Try Fix 1 first and if that does not work, try Fix 2.
Fix 1: If when loading the Library Gateway you get the JavaScript error, click "OK" on each JavaScript error box. When no more JavaScript errors appear, click the "Reload" button of your browser. Make sure you wait for the page to download fully before moving on.
Fix 2: Clear your browser's cache manually. Below are directions for Netscape and Internet Explorer.
Netscape:
1) Click "Edit" on the Netscape menu and choose "Preferences".
2) On the left-hand side of the dialog box, you will see a list of
items with 'plus' or 'minus' signs
beside them. Double-click on "Advanced". A sub-list of choices will
appear.
3) Double-click on "Cache".
4) On the right-hand side there will be a menu with buttons.
Click the button labeled "Clear Memory Cache". When asked if you want
to continue, click "OK".
5) Next, click the button labeled "Clear Disk Cache". Click
"OK".
6) Close Netscape.
7) Open Netscape and try to access the Library Gateway again.
Make sure you let all pages fully download before proceeding.
Internet Explorer:
1) Click "Tools" on the IE menu and choose "Internet Options".
2) Under "Temporary Internet Files", click on "Delete Files."
3) Close Internet Explorer.
4) Open Internet Explorer and try to access the Library Gateway
again. Make sure you let all pages fully download before
proceeding.
